The new Director General of RTÉ has announced he's replacing the senior management team at the State broadcaster.
The Executive Board is to be stood down today, and replaced with a temporary interim leadership team.
The ongoing controversy was sparked by undeclared payments to presenter Ryan Tubridy amounting to €345,000 over a six-year period from 2017 to 2022.
In the email to staff this morning, the new Director General Kevin Bakhurst, also committed to publishing the salaries of the Executive Board along with the ten highest-paid presenters.
He said he plans to be a 'visible and available Director General' and that change will be essential to rebuilding trust in public service broadcasting,
A new permanent leadership team will be announced in due course which he says will be open, transparent and accountable.
The National Union of Journalists has welcomed the developments saying it hopes this marks the beginning of a new beginning at RTÉ.
