New Legislation to Prevent Stalking Takes Effect
New legislation has been put in place to prevent stalking and protect victims.
Justice Minister Helen McEntee has announced the new provisions allow all victims to apply to the District Court for a civil order.
Before now, the legislation only applied when the perpetrator was a current or former partner.
Una Ring, Co-Founder of stalking-dot-ie, says she's glad the legislation has finally been changed
"There's been an awful lot done in such a short space of time, when you think of how slow it takes to get laws changed... it's a great thing to have [gone] through".
