A new EU windfall tax on energy companies is expected to be agreed today.
Energy Minister, Eamon Ryan, says it will help the Irish government redistribute profits to help people pay rising energy bills.

The emergency summit in Brussels comes amid soaring energy prices throughout the EU, triggered by the Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
