Children will be able to avail of a '90 minute' fare for 80 cent in the coming weeks.
Currently children traveling on Dublin Bus, Luas and DART services can only avail of the low far during school hours.
The National Transport Authority is revamping the fare system, which will see adults be able to make multiple journeys across bus and rail during a 90 minute period, for a flat fee of 2 euro 30.
The NTA’s Director of Public Transport services, Tim Gaston says the reduced fare is available by using your leap card.
He said the scheme is aimed at people doing 2 or 3 legs of a journey.
"Ass with everything, it's to make people more likely to use public transport and less likely to use their cars."
The new rates kick in from the end of November.
