Netflix could start to clamp down on users who share their accounts.
Tech firm, Synamedia, has revealed a new system designed to catch out those who share their accounts.
The AI technology will spot shared passwords on services similar to Netfix.
The punishment for someone who does this is to either upgrade to a premium service, or they'll shut down the account.
Jean Marc Racine, chief product officer at Synamedia, said:
“Casual credentials sharing is becoming too expensive to ignore."
"Our new solution gives operators the ability to take action. Many casual users will be happy to pay an additional fee for a premium, shared service."
"It’s a great way to keep honest people honest while benefiting from an incremental revenue stream.”
