Average rents across the country are at a new all time high of €1,366.
The latest quarterly Daft.ie rental report, shows they've risen by an average of 8.3 percent year-on-year, particularly in urban areas.
The number of homes available to rent across the country is also at it's lowest level in 13 years - just 2-thousand 700 homes were available to rent on May 1st.
During the Celtic Tiger period, rental stock bottomed out at just under 4,400 in early 2007.
However, The report says there are some 'crumbs of comfort', with the national annual rate of inflation at 8.3% in the first quarter of 2019, its lowest level in five years.
