Murder Probe Launched After Infant Dies In Belfast

A 29-year old woman remains in custody on suspicion of murder and attempted murder, after the body of a baby was found in a house in North Belfast
Police were called to an incident at Brompton Park area of Ardoyne yesterday evening at around 8pm.
The infant was pronounced dead at the scene.
A second child was also discovered at the house, and was brought to hospital where they remain in intensive care.

A 29-year-old woman who was in the house at the time has been arrested.

Sinn Fein MP in the area John Finucane was at the scene last night and says residents were stunned.
"I think people are finding it difficult to get their head around".
"But it's a strong community, it's resolute and they will rally around," he said.
