A murder investigation has been launched following a fatal assault on a man in Co Cavan.
A man has been arrested and is being questioned in Co Roscommon.

Blacklion
Gardai remain here at the scene after the body of a man was found in an apartment in Blacklion yesterday.
The victim has been named as 52-year Denis Neary, he suffered serious head injuries.
Paramedics tried to resuscitate him yesterday but he was pronounced dead a short time later.
Local councillor John Paul Feely says everyone in the village is shocked by what happened.
"We're of course thinking of the family involved."
"Because whatever the circumstances are, they are grieving for a family member today."
Door-To-Door
Gardai have been carrying out door-to-door enquiries throughout this morning..
They've also been searching bins, hedges and alleyways.
Cllr John Paul Feely says the victim only moved to Blacklion recently.
A man in his 30s is currently being detained and questioned in Castlerea. The victim and the suspect were known to each other.
