The mother of a toddler whose toy gun was seized at Dublin Airport earlier said security staff were 'apologetic' after confiscating the item.
The three-year-old boy was told no replica guns - including his brand new Minion Fart Blaster - could be taken on board the flight.
The toy emits a banana-like smell when fired.
The child's mother Daire Fitzpatrick said the toy was a present from her son's grandfather:
Dublin Airport Authority has defended its decision to confiscate the toy, insisting that no replica guns of any kind are allowed on flights. A spokesperson said security staff don't write the rules - but they have to enforce them.
