Doctors are welcoming the government's plan to impose a minimum price on alcohol.
The Health Minister will unveil the measures this afternoon - they will be based on the price of alcohol per gram.
The move has been welcomed by the retailers and the Irish Medical Organisation - who say it will protect small businesses as well as improve the country's health.
