A minibus, which had three passengers on board, was hijacked at Dublin Airport overnight.
Three passengers were in the minibus when two men boarded it and drove in the direction of the M1.
The passengers were unharmed and later let off the bus on the M1 near Julianstown.
It’s understood the minibus continued north on the M1 until it was located near Drogheda.
The bus was then followed by Garda units before crossing the border north of Dundalk.
It later returned across the border in Co Monaghan before crashing.
The two men inside the mini bus ran off before getting into a car, which was eventually intercepted near Castleblayney.
Two men, in their 30s, were arrested and are currently detained at Carrickmacross Garda Station.
