The brewing of Corona Beer has been suspended in Mexico after it was declared non-essential under a government order.
A health emergency was declared in Mexico this week and the government ordered the suspension of non-essential activities.
Grupo Modelo said that it will temporarily stop brewing Corona beer and other brands exported to 180 countries as a result.
Corona beer has been the butt of memes and punchlines since the outbreak of the virus and there have been reports that sales have decreaesed dramatically as a result.
