Facebook has apologised after an 'embarrassing glitch' led to 'friend requests' being sent to people whose profiles had been viewed.
The Daily Mail reports the social media's parent company Meta says the bug was triggered by an app update. The issue has since been resolved.

Facebook users, who think they may have inadvertently generated a friend request, are urged to review 'pending friend requests' in their activity log.
The issue was highlighted online last week by some users who were worried about their viewing activity being exposed.
