The Metropolitan Police in London has referred itself to the watchdog over the death of Caroline Flack.
The force says it's standard practice when a member of the public dies and has had recent contact with officers.
The former Love Island presenter was found dead at her London flat on Saturday.
The 40-year-old was awaiting trial for allegedly assaulting her 27-year-old boyfriend Lewis Burton.
The Met said it was standard practice for a referral to be made to the Independent Office for Police Conduct when a person who has had recent contact with police dies and means there can be an independent assessment.
