Met Eireann forecasters have been told to stop showing "despair" over climate change - and use more positive language instead.
The Times Ireland edition reports that using words like "inevitable" could lead people to believe nothing can be done about global warming.
New guidelines issued to staff say forecasters should use terms like "the weather on steroids".
However, they can say that climate change is making extreme weather events more likely.
The forecaster has been criticised by environmental groups for failing to tell the public how climate change is affecting the weather
