Met Éireann's extended its Status Yellow Warning for snow and ice to the whole country.
Wintry showers of hail, sleet, and snow are expected to stick in parts, and the forecaster is warning of icy stretches on roads and footpaths.
A yellow alert for wind is also un place for Donegal until 5 pm.
Met Éireann forecaster, Matthew Martin, says wintry showers will continue for the next 24 hours.
Cold and blustery with sunny spells and scattered wintry showers. Cloudier conditions with some patchy rain and sleet soon into the Southwest and will move Northwards over the country this afternoon and evening turning to snow in parts, especially on high ground. pic.twitter.com/3gmYeiMWJo

He says very cold polar maritime air has moved from the Atlantic, originating in Greenland.
The heaviest accumulations of snow are likely on high ground but slight build-ups might also be experienced in lower-lying areas as well.
