The GAA is set to defend the online streaming of matches on GAAGO at the Oireachtas Media Committee this afternoon.
In its opening statement, it will say broadcasting every championship match on TV is 'not realistic' and not in the GAA's 'interest'.
RTÉ's Head of Sport will also defend the decision to air high-profile matches on the pay-per-view service.
But Member of the Oireachtas Media Committee, Fianna Fáil TD, Christopher O'Sullivan, says many older people don't have access to the online GAAGO streaming service.
"A few weeks ago high-profile matches, where there would have been a lot of interest, weren't broadcast on main [TV] channels.
"That caused a lot of upset. A lot of people who are slightly older, perhaps who wouldn't have access to streaming or links.
"I always give the example of my father, who still uses his Nokia 3210. It simply wasn't available to him.
"So we still have to make sure that we look after that demographic of people".
