The Mater Hospital in Dublin is asking that people only attend the facility if "absolutely necessary."
In a statement, the hospital says it's currently experiencing high levels of patients being admitted with the flu.

Children under the age of 12 are not permitted to visit the hospital.

The HSE warned yesterday that the flu season is set to last another five weeks.
The current influenza season has led to the deaths of 22 people so far.
Officials at the HSE are advising the public that it is still not too late to get the flu vaccine.
