Gardaí in Mullingar are investigating the discovery of a man's body at a house near Miltownpass yesterday evening.
His body was discovered in a house, in the Rattin area, around 6 kilometres from Miltownpass just after 6 o’clock yesterday evening.
The man, believed to have been in his 60s, was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.
The State Pathologist and Garda Technical Bureau have been called in, to assist local Gardaí in the investigation.

Gardaí are treating the investigation as ‘the discovery of a body in unexplained circumstances’.
The coroner has also been notified, and a postmortem examination is likely to be carried out of the man’s body today.
Gardaí say the results of the postmortem will determine the course of the investigation.
