The Health Minister has confirmed there's been a pause in the mandatory hotel quarantine system due to a lack of hotel beds.
The portal has closed awaiting further capacity coming on stream from next Monday.
Minister Stephen Donnelly has also confirmed there's still a high number of walk-ins to mandatory hotel quarantine, which shouldn't be happening.
The list of countries deemed high risk is to expand gain from Thursday.
The US and Canada, as well as a number of EU countries including France, Belgium and Italy are among those to be added to the mandatory hotel quarantine list.
