Tesco has called on trade union Mandate to call off a threat of strike action at two stores in the north west.
The company says the stores will remain open during the threatened action in Sligo and Carrick-on-Shannon.
It is after union members at the shops in both stores overwhelmingly backed industrial action.
The strike will affect the two stores on Thursday December 6th and Friday December 14th.
Ciaran Campbell, Mandate Divisional Organiser for the North and West insists there is a way for the company to avoid industrial action.
Tesco say they have always abided by agreed procedures and expect Mandate to do the same.
