A man, woman and baby girl are in a critical condition in hospital following a house fire in the Ardoyne area of north Belfast.
The cause of the blaze is still under investigation.
The alarm was raised by a taxi driver who first saw the fire at the house on Jamaica street.
One man ran into the house and tried to get to the baby girl who was upstairs, but was beaten back by the heat.
Fire officers say the fire was "well developed" on the ground floor when they arrived.
They removed the man, woman and infant from the premises, and fire crews worked with the paramedics to look after them.
They were unconscious at the time and were taken to the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast.
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information.
