An investigation is underway after a Garda fired a gun in Mallow, Co. Cork last night.
It happened on the Mitchelstown Road at around half-past eight.
It's understood this incident occurred when a car failed to stop for Gardai.
A Garda fired his gun as attempts were being made to stop the vehicle.
Two men have been arrested under the Drug Trafficking Act and are being held at Mallow Garda Station.
One man was injured during the incident.
As the incident involved the discharge of a garda firearm, it was referred to the GSOC for investigation.
GSOC officers attended the scene last night.
