A Dublin man has gone on trial accused of murdering 16 year old Melanie McNamara in Tallaght, two years ago.
She was shot in the head while sitting in the rear seat of a Nissan Primera at Brookview Way on the evening of February 7th 2012.
The prosecution says its case against Daniel Mc Donnell relies on letters he allegedly wrote while in custody and on unsavoury graffiti found in his cell at Tallaght Garda Station.
The 19 year old with an address at Brookview Lawns in Tallaght denies the murder charge.
The Central Criminal Court has heard Melanie McNamara may not have been the intended target of the shooting.
