A man has died after a crash in Galway.
It happened at Carrownurlar in Milltown shortly after one o'clock this morning.
The driver of the car - a man in his 30s - was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver and sole occupant of the van - a man in his 50s - was taken to Castlebar General Hospital as a precautionary measure.
Garda forensic collision investigators have been requested to examine the crash site.
As a result, the N17 is closed between Ballindine and Milltown and diversions are in place via Irishtown.
