A man has been handed a life sentence for stabbing his wife to death in their Dublin home.
Just before Christmas, a jury convicted Alan Ward, of Greenfort Drive, Clondalkin, of murdering Catherine Ward in the early hours of March 1st 2019.

Alan Ward (54) stabbed Catherine Ward in their home at Greenfort Drive, Clondalkin, Dublin in 2019.
He also tried to stab one of their sons.
A family member described Catherine as a great Mum, who was kind and well-loved.

After killing her, his trial heard he then tried to stab one of their three sons before threatening to kill him.
Catherine Ward was described as “kind-hearted, bubbly and well-liked” in a Victim Impact Statement read out on behalf of her family today.
