A man's body has been found in 'unexplained circumstances' in Co Cork.
The man in his 50s was found dead at the foot of a stairwell in an apartment in Mallow, shortly after 7 o'clock yesterday evening.
He was pronounced dead at the scene which was sealed off overnight.
His body has since been removed to Cork University Hospital, where Dr Margaret Bolster from the Office of the State Pathologist will perform a post-mortem examination.
The results of the post-mortem will help Gardaí determine the course of the investigation.
