A 45-year old man is to appear before Limerick District Court this evening in connection to the murder of Rose Hanrahan.
The 78-year old woman was killed at her home on New Road, Thomandgate in the city in December 2017.
A Romanian national was arrested today on suspicion of murder at Dublin Airport following extradition from the UK.
The special-sitting of Limerick District Court is due to get underway at 9pm.
