A man in his mid 20s has died in a road traffic accident outside Carrickmacross, Co Monaghan.
The 2-car accident happened at Drummondotra on the N2 at around 7 this morning.
The dead man was the sole occupant of his car.
Two people who were traveling in the other car have been taken to Our Lady of Lourde's hospital in Drogheda for treatment - they are not in a life-threatening condition.
The Dundalk exit off the N2 at Carrickmacross is closed until further notice.
