A man has died in a construction accident at a major tunnel project in North County Mayo.
The incident happened at Aughoose near Pullathomas shortly before 9 o'clock this morning.
Operations were immediately suspended at the tunneling site and a full investigation has been launched into the incident.
The project contractors Wayss and Freytag and BAM Civil say they are co-operating fully with Garda and Health and Safety Authority investigations which are underway at site.
The tunnel is being built as part of Shell's Corrib Gas project.
