A man has died, and a second has been injured after they were hit by a train in Co. Meath.
It happened on the main Dublin to Belfast rail line just outside Gormanston Station shortly before 9.30 last night.
Emergency services and Gardaí attended the scene, and one of the men treated there was later pronounced dead.
His body has since been taken to mortuary at Navan Hospital where a post mortem exam will take place.
A second man received treatment at the scene but was not seriously injured.
Both of the men are reported to be aged in their 20s.
The driver of the train was treated for shock.
The line was closed for a time last night but it has since reopened.
Gardaí believe there was no foul play involved and say inquiries are ongoing.
