Gardai are appealing for witnesses after a man was knocked down in County Louth.
He was hit by a lorry yesterday while walking on the M1 motorway.
The pedestrian was attending to a car on the M1 southbound between junction 14 Ardee and junction 15 Castlebellingham when he was struck by a lorry.
The man in his 40s was pronounced dead at the scene when it happened at a quarter past 12 yesterday afternoon.
No-one else was injured but the man driving the lorry was taken to hospital as a precaution.
The scene was sealed off and Forensic Collision Investigators were called.
Gardaí in Ardee are appealing for any witnesses to this incident to come forward.
They're asking any road users who may have camera footage and were travelling in the area at the time to make this footage available to them.
