A 33-year-old man has been charged in connection with the murder of another man in Kilkenny.
It follows an incident on Castlecomer Road in the city in the early hours of Thursday morning.
A 46-year-old man was taken to St Luke's Hospital with serious injuries but was pronounced dead shortly before 11 pm that night.
The man is due to appear before Kilkenny District Court this afternoon.
Gardaí are continuing to appeal to anyone who may have information in relation to this incident to come forward.
They are particularly appealing to anyone who was in the Castlecomer Road / Gas House Lane area between 3.30 am and 5.30 am on Thursday.
They would also like to hear from road users who may have camera footage.
