A 47-year-old man has appeared in court in Dundalk accused of the murder of a child in Co Louth.
Gerard Cruise of Rathmullan Park, Drogheda was charged at 12.50am this morning.
The special sitting of Dundalk District Court heard he made no reply to the charge.
Judge Eirinn McKiernan remanded him in custody to Drogheda District Court
He is to appear by videolink at a hearing next Friday.
