Gardai have arrested a man in Co Louth in connection with the capital murder of Detective Garda Adrian Donohoe.
The detective was shot dead eight years ago during an armed robbery.
It happened on a cold and windy night outside Lordship credit union.
Aaron Brady, from Crossmaglen, County Armagh was the one who pulled the trigger.
In October, he was handed the mandatory life sentence for the capital murder of Detective Donohoe.
He will have to serve at least 40 years in prison.
After the sentence was handed down, Detective Donohoe's family said their quest for justice would continue.
This morning a man was arrested by Gardai in Co. Louth in connection with the capital murder of Detective Garda Adrian Donohoe.
He was taken into custody at around 8:30 am
The suspect is now being questioned at Dundalk Garda Station.
