Gardai in Dublin have arrested a man and uncovered a replica firearm following an incident in Coolock in the early hours of this morning.
At around half past two Gardai were called to the Greencastle Road where a man - in his twenties - threatened Gardai and members of the public at gun point.
The area was sealed off and following a stand off the man was arrested and brought to Coolock Garda Station.
One shot was fired during the incident by the Gardai but no one was injured.
The scene has been preserved for a technical examination and the Garda Ombudsman Commission has been notified.
