A man is due to appear in court today in connection with an assault in Dublin yesterday.
The incident happened at Tyrconnell Road in Inchicore just before half past nine yesterday evening. A man in his forties remains in a critical condition in hospital.
A man in his thirties was detained by gardai in relation to the incident.
He will appear in court this afternoon.
