A man will appear in court this morning charged in connection with a significant seizure of cocaine in Louth earlier this week.
The 29-year-old was arrested after cocaine with a street value of €1.4m was seized in Drogheda.
It was recovered after a vehicle was stopped at the Donore Road Industrial Estate on Monday afternoon.
The search resulted in 20kgs of cocaine being seized.
It was carried out as part of an intelligence-led operation under Operation Stratus.
It was set up a year ago to tackle criminality in the Drogheda area.
Further searches conducted on Monday in the town resulted in the seizure of three guns, ammunition, 25 thousand euro worth of cannais and the arrest of a 38 year old man, who remains in Garda custody.
