A man arrested after a shooting in Mayo has been released without charge.
67 year old Brendan Kilduff was shot dead at Aghamore near Ballyhaunis on Tuesday.
Shortly before midnight on Tuesday, a man in his 80s heard a noise outside his house in Aghamore.
He went outside with a gun and fired a number of shots to warn off any potential intruders.
Brendan Kilduff a farmer from Knock was shot and died at the scene.
The man in his 80s was arrested and brought to Castlebar Garda Station but was released without charge late last night.
A post mortem has been completed but the results aren't being released for operational reasons.
