A man associated with Scouting Ireland has been arrested in relation to alleged sexual offences.
They are alleged to have happened over a 30 year period.
Gardai believe the alleged offences could date as far back as the 1980's.
The man arrested this morning is in his 70s, and is now being questioned at Togher Garda Station.
As part of the investigation, Gardaí carried out four searches at properties in Co. Cork and one in Co. Kerry.
These resulted in the seizure of documentation, electronic devices, and computers.
An Garda Síochána is continuing to liaise with Tusla in relation to the investigation.
Gardai are appealing to any victims who have not yet come forward to make a complaint at their local Garda station.
They say each and every complaint made will be investigated with professionalism and compassion.
