A new government report has recommended major reforms to make childcare more affordable.
The measures would include specific state funding set aside for the sector to put controls on fees.
The funding would also be used to improve the pay and conditions of childcare staff.
Children’s minister Roderic O’Gorman says the government has accepted the recommendations and will now look at introducing the changes.
