A new report has found that the main cause of family homelessness in Dublin was being forced to leave private rented accomodation
The study from Focus Ireland found that 9 out of 10 homeless families lived in their last stable home for over a year.
Focus Ireland interviewed 237 families that are homeless in Dublin as part of their latest report on homelessness in the capital.
68 percent of respondents stated that their last stable home was in the private rented sector.
53 percent became homeless because their landlord had decided to stop renting out the property - either selling it, moving their family or themselves in or the property being repossessed by the bank.
There's now a record number of 10-thousand 378 people homeless in Ireland including nearly 4-thousand of them are children.
