The bust of Dubliner Luke Kelly has been vandalised again.
It's the fifth time the art piece on Guild Street in the city it's been targeted by paint in the past 13 months.
Red paint appeared on the face of the bust of the Sheriff Street native who died in 1984, as well as paint appearing on the base of the installation.
Professional clearer will remove the graffiti tomorrow morning.
"Let's hope it doesn't repeat itself again. I'm lost, and I would call it nothing short of thuggery," said Councillor Christy Burke.
"I'm lost for words as to how any individual, could have such disrespect for such a great ambassador and a well-respected man Luke Kelly. We're all just numb."
