Around 35 former patients of Dr. Michael Neary who were previously excluded from the Lourdes Hospital redress scheme are being invited to apply to the fund.
The women, who underwent unnecessary surgical procedures at the Drogheda Hospital were originally denied access to the fund - due to their age.
Many of the women had ovaries removed or underwent hysterectomies that were found to be medically unwarranted.
The Health Minister James Reilly acknowledged the work of Patient Focus who campaigned for the women.
Women who meet the criteria under the Scheme will be entitled to sums between €60,000 and €100,000.
