Ireland's national minimum wage could be replaced in four years.
Instead, a 'Living Wage' has been proposed, set at 60% of the median wage in a year.
The plans are based on research carried out by the Low Pay Commission.
It would be set to €12.17 per hour now if the Living Wage is being implemented in 2022, however that total could change due to inflation over the next few years.
The minimum wage is now set at €10.50 an hour.
There have been recommendations in the past to have the Living Wage as high as €12.90 an hour.
