A man is in a serious condition in hospital after being stabbed in Limerick City.
It happened at around 4 o'clock this afternoon on Lower Mallow Street between Henry Street and Bishops Quay.
The man is said to have stumbled out of an apartment block with serious stab wounds to his stomach.
He was rushed by ambulance to University Hospital Limerick in a serious condition
A French man, in his 30s, has been arrested as part of a Garda investigation, in connection with the stabbing.
He was detained by Gardaí at Dock Road, shortly afterwards.
