A pub in Limerick has closed its doors only hours after reopening this morning.
Whelan’s Bar on Maiden Street, Newcastle West opened its doors at 10:50 am.
It pulled pints despite guidelines which say pubs that don't serve food must remain closed until August 10th.

Pints were only served for a short time today because at 1pm Gardai entered the bar and requested that it close.
Owner Gearoid Whelan said he was advised by two gardai to cease trading, before they handed him a copy of the Health Act 1947, citing “Temporary Restrictions (COVID-19) (No.3) (Amendment) Regulations 2020”.
The publican said he would comply with the Garda’s request “for the moment”.
