Gardai say the suspect package found in Limerick this morning appears to be identical to those sent to the UK earlier this month.
The parcel was discovered at an An Post Depot in Limerick this morning.
More than 100 people were evacuated from the Dock Road offices following the discovery.
The Justice Minister Charlie Flanagan has described today's incident as an 'act of terror'.
A viable improvised explosive device in a plastic envelope was identified and made safe.
The IRA claimed responsibility for the letter bombs sent to London and Glasgow.
Gardai are continuing to liaise with the British Authorities on their investigation.
