The Libyan Prime Minister has been released after earlier being kidnapped by a gang of armed men.
Ali Zeidan was taken from a hotel in the capital Tripoli at dawn.
A group of former rebels which reports to the defence and interior ministries, said on Facebook they have seized Zeidan "on the prosecutor's orders".
The group said the premier "was arrested under the Libyan penal code... on the instructions of the public prosecutor".
However just before 11 o clock Irish time the The country's foreign minister said he been freed but there are "no details so far on the circumstances of his release".
The pre-dawn seizure of came five days after US commandos embarrassed and angered Libya's government by capturing a senior Al-Qaeda suspect off the streets of Tripoli and whisking him away to a warship.
