Ireland's first LGBT only student accommodation has been launched at the University of Limerick.
The 'Rainbow House' initiative will allow members of the gay community to live together if they wish to do so.
More than 200 people from across 30 countries have already signed up for accommodation.
UL has become the first college in Ireland to provide the scheme.
Manager of Campus Life Services Carol-Jane Shanley says it will help new students settle in: 'We've had cases in the past where students have unfortunately been put into houses where there' have been incidents of bullying, basically the idea behind the initiative is that you'd be put in the same house, if you wanted to, with people who are going through the exact same experiences as you are'.
